Dry Van

Getting freight from your dock to your customer shouldn’t eat up your week. At US Fast Logistics, we set up dry van freight shipping for manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and smaller businesses all over the U.S. You tell us what’s moving and where. We find a carrier we trust, put the right dry van truck on it, and stay on the shipment until it’s delivered.
Some of our customers ship one dry van load a month. Others ship a few every week. Either way, you get the same attention, and you’ll know what you’re paying before anything leaves your building.
What Is a Dry Van, and Why Most Freight Ships in One?

If you haven’t shipped much by truck, you may be asking what is a dry van. It’s the plain box trailer you pass on the highway every day. A dry van trailer doesn’t have a reefer unit or any temperature control. It’s four walls, a roof, and swing doors in the back. That’s enough to keep rain, road grime, and thieves away from your cargo, so it’s the default for anything boxed or on pallets.
A lot of dry van freight is ordinary stuff: canned goods, drinks, store merchandise, paper products, electronics, furniture, building materials, auto parts. If your product doesn’t need to stay cold, a dry van is almost always the cheapest way to move it. We watch this market closely. We know which lanes get tight, what time of year trucks get scarce, and which carriers actually show up when they say they will. That’s usually the difference between getting a truck on Tuesday and still looking on Thursday.
What We Do
Find the Truck
Send us the details and we’ll find a carrier with the right equipment for your load, your lane, and your pickup date. You don’t have to call around to a dozen dry van trucking companies or wonder if the one you picked will actually show.
Quote a Fair Dry Van Rate
We check what the lane is paying right now before we quote you, so the dry van rate you get lines up with the market. If there’s a chance of detention, a liftgate fee, or a layover, we’ll tell you before we book. Nobody likes finding extra charges on an invoice.
Check Every Carrier
We don’t hand your freight to just anyone. We look at the carrier’s authority, insurance, safety record, and how they’ve performed on past loads. So the dry van driver who backs up to your dock works for a company we’ve already checked out.
Keep You Posted
We stay in touch with the driver from pickup to delivery. If something slips, like a late pickup or a traffic mess, we’ll call you, and we’ll already be working on a fix.
Take Care of the Details
Appointments, delivery windows, rate confirmations, bills of lading, proof of delivery. We deal with all of that, and we talk to your shipping and receiving people directly. Your team gets to do their actual jobs.
Set Up Regular Lanes
If you ship on the same routes every week or month, we can line up steady capacity on those lanes. You stop hunting for a truck each time, and your freight costs get a lot easier to budget.
Equipment and Capacity
Most of what we move goes on a standard 53 dry van. If your facility or your load works better with a 48-foot trailer, we can get one of those too. Here’s the typical dry van size for a 53-foot dry van semi trailer:
| Specification | Typical 53′ Dry Van |
| Interior length | About 52′ 6″ |
| Interior width | About 98″–101″ |
| Interior height | About 108″–110″ |
| Pallet capacity (48″ x 40″) | 26 single-stacked, up to 52 double-stacked |
| Typical max payload | Around 42,000–45,000 lbs |
Not sure how much space your shipment takes up? Send us the pallet count, dimensions, and total weight. We’ll tell you what equipment makes sense and make sure the load stays legal.
Why Shippers Use Us
Big companies have their own logistics departments and carrier contracts. Most small and mid-sized shippers don’t, and hiring a transportation team just to move a few loads doesn’t make sense. That’s where we come in.
